It has sprung slats which are in two sections with a central support beam running the length of the bed supporting them, with two legs off this middle section offering further support. The oak headboard, footboards and side runners are oak laminate and slightly ginger rather than pale oak. I love the simplicity of the frame design and its understated shaker appearance. Glad I bought it - I waited long enough and am not disappointed.
