Constructed from MFC, the Herringford Wooden Ottoman is available with a laminated oak or walnut effect finish. Both options recreate the inviting visual character of natural wood, allowing the frame to complement a variety of contemporary and traditionally styled bedroom interiors.

The tall headboard features precisely arranged panels that form a striking chevron pattern. This geometric detailing draws attention towards the top of the bed and gives the frame a distinctive architectural quality without introducing upholstery or decorative embellishments.

Straight side rails and a substantial footboard continue the coordinated wood-effect finish throughout the frame. With its clean lines and balanced proportions, the design maintains a cohesive appearance when viewed from different areas of the bedroom.

A gas-assisted hydraulic mechanism raises the mattress platform from the foot end, providing access to the concealed storage area beneath. This valuable compartment offers a practical place to keep spare bedding, blankets and other belongings without requiring additional freestanding furniture.

Sprung wooden slats sit within a metal mattress-support frame featuring a central rail and supporting legs. The gently curved slats provide a responsive foundation beneath the mattress.

After two days I have received the Divan Bed Base it broke. One of the middle legs is screwed into a piece of wood that broke from the main frame and pushed itself inside the frame. Not to damage it further I put a wooden object to support it.

It’s good. First thing to say is that it comes in four packages so it’s ok to get upstairs without destroying the walls. Two of the packages are quite heavy, the headboard and the sides with gas struts. Having got it upstairs is fun to put together if you like that kind of thing. The instructions aren’t good. There is no number or letter code to the packets of various screws so you have to work out which screw to use by how many have supplied you of each one. I ended up with a couple of bits left which I couldn’t identify in the instructions. It hasn’t collapsed yet. The instructions are pictures, no text. The most awkward bit is attaching the metal base to the gas struts which they seem to think you do at a 45 degree angle as the gas struts won’t sit flat because their default it to be up at the raised angle. In the end I detached a couple of screws holding the gas struts so that they were flat to put the heavy metal base onto and then, once fitted, re-attach the gas struts. It’s quite possible I didn’t understand what they wanted me to do in the first place. So it’s up. I’m not a fan of wooden slats but we have a good solid mattress so no sounds coming from it as you move. Lifting the base for storage is quite heavy and the footboard makes it hard to get your hand down to get hold of it. If you’re not used to a footboard, expect to be walking into it for a while with sore legs as your mind assumes it’s just a duvet at the end. It’s ok. Seems solid. Ok to look at. I would have a divan but we wanted to maximise our storage.

Within a month of purchase the internal frame to the bedbase broke so that one of the legs has collapsed making the bed unuseable. I'm very disappointed
