Which brings us to reflex foam. We supply a range of reflex foam mattresses, but we find that our customers are sometimes not as familiar with reflex foam as they might be with memory foam or even pocket sprung mattresses. So what exactly is reflex foam, and why do people choose to buy it?

Reflex foam is name given to a type of medium-firm high density polyurethane foam. It is often used in orthopaedic mattresses and is considered by some to be a cheaper alternative to memory foam. Although it shares the same ‘spring back into shape’ characteristic of memory foam – hence the ‘reflex’ name - but essentially it’s important to distinguish the difference between the two materials as they are by no means the same product.

The average memory foam mattress has millions of tiny holes, and air escapes from these as the mattress foam moulds around the body. This action is activated by pressure and body heat, and results in a foam mattress that offers total independent support without pressure points.

Reflex foam, like memory foam, is also high density, but is constructed in a different way with larger bubbles. When pressure is applied to the bubbles, they act in a similar way to water in a balloon – the air does not escape, and is just displaced ‘sideways’. Once pressure is relieved, the bubbles spring back into shape and the mattress regains its shape.

Your visitors might vastly vary in age; from young children through to elderly friends and relatives, so it then goes that your guest bed needs to be suitable for use by everyone. That’s why at My Bed Frames, we’ve included a range of versatile single guest bed frames that not only offer all the comfort of a ‘proper’ bed, but also help to maximise floor space when not in use.
These trundle guest beds provide a permanent sleeping space that fits a standard 3ft mattress, but the extra 3ft guest bed is neatly stored away within the wooden bed frame, and rolled out when required. The wooden guest bed frame has its own independent support legs that raise both mattresses to the same level, providing a double 6ft sleeping area.

Children love having their friends stay over for the night, and what better way to provide a handy extra, dedicated sleeping area than with a space-saving bunk bed.  We supply a vast array of bunk beds that will withstand years of use. Many of our bunk beds have an extra element of versatility, and can function as two separate beds if and when required. Alternatively, we also supply a number of futon bunks – the upper level functions as the permanent sleeping area, whilst the futon sofa underneath can be converted into a double bed. We advise that our futon beds are only suitable for occasional use, making them a perfect guest bed option.
